Huge charity donation from Powerball winner. The $560 million Powerball jackpot winner, who sue the New Hampshire state lottery commission in order to remain anonymous, she was able to collect her jackpot prize as well as making huge.
“She knows there are so many charities that do good work and need money, but we want to start with these two. She believes that if we raise good children we will have a good country,” said her lawyer on her behalf.
Girls Inc. received $150,000 and three separate cheques of $33,000 each were issued to End 68 Hours of Hunger chapters in the New Hampshire cities of Nashua, Derry and Dover.
The first charity to receive a hefty donation by the kind hearted Powerball lottery winner is, Girls Inc. which partners with schools and says its focus is on the “whole girl.”
An extract from their website reads as follows: “She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths.”
Girls Inc., which began in 1864, also says 88% of its funds go directly to programming. Their research-based programming is delivered by trained professionals who focus on the development of the whole girl. They support, mentor, and guide girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment.
End 68 Hours of Hunger
The second charity that the Powerball lottery winner donated to is End 68 Hours of Hunger. This organization partners with schools, focusing on the 68 hours children from low-income families. This amazing program puts nourishing food in the hands of school children to carry them through the weekend.
A weekend bag of food costs $10 and provides two breakfasts, two lunches, and three dinners for the child.
The Powerball lottery winner’s lawyer also stated that there would be plenty more money distributed to more charities.
“My client does not want any accolades, she does not want any credit,” he said. “She just wants to do good things.”
Little is known about the $590 million US Powerball winner, other than she’s a woman, and she is from southern New Hampshire.
According to her lawyer she doesn’t want the attention that often comes with winning a big usa lotto jackpot, as she does work in the community and would like to continue to do so without solely being known for winning the lottery. She feels that this knowledge would negatively impact on the good work she is doing.
Her lawyer stated that his client informed him that she hasn’t yet quit her job and plans to remain where she lives. She comes from a family of givers “and this is just part of a continuation of how she was raised,” She hasn’t been in a position to give to charities in the past, he said.
Officials from the two charities appeared to be stunned by the donations that they said dwarfed anything they had received before. The massive donations received from the Powerball lottery jackpot winner will allow them to greatly expand their services, including more programs for girls and meals for children.
“I’ve been here 22 years and never had a day like this,” said Cathy Duffy Cullity, CEO of Girls Inc. “I wake up in the morning now and say I don’t have to worry anymore. It goes so far.
The mysterious Powerball jackpot winner has now set up the Good Karma Family Trust of 2018 to try and shield her identity.
